Mark continues to comfort Sam

In his own unique style.

Is there no end to the degradation?

A rotting, flyblown corpse continues to be the smartest person in this strip.

I'm still so excited

You know the post title has nothing to do with this entry, but is about what's happening in Mark Trail, which will be "unpacked" (word of the week at teacher camp) shortly, right?

A Double Post and Excited Apology

Two posts today because I missed yesterday. I temporarily have a kind of a life; I'm at teacher camp this week.
I'm really excited about what's going on in Mark Trail this week. I can't wait to get back to work on these past few strips, and I just want to pour out what I've done so far. Good stuff coming!

It's me that can't go long without some kind of nasty innuendo.

More Machiavellian Machinations

No depth is too low for this man; if his plan works the new airport will be built on a mountain of innocent bodies (metaphorically speaking).

Another Mark Trail Blog

I was just over at the comics curmudgeon and found a link to an "all-Mark-Trail-all-the-time" blog called Nobody Loves Rusty. You should check it out.

Craven weaves a web of death

He is one nasty, backstabbing dude!

Bonus Feature and comments

You remember that the bonus features are "ideas rejected in the original Mark Trail brainstorming session" and that I claim they are all better than what was actually produced. I've had this one "in my pocket" for some time, in case I had a dry day. But the truth is that I have about ten strips done ahead, which is two weeks worth if I kept putting out five a week as was my practice. However, I'm so excited about where everything's going, I can't wait to get there. Then, as happened today, Elrod throws me a couple pictures that play right into what I've been doing. I know I'll never run dry until the plot arc is complete and Mark's fist lands on someone's jaw (I'm hoping for Commissioner Craven, but betting on Buzzard -- by the way, today's strip revealed that Buzzard's real name is Bob Bird, and that he has a wife).
Happy Trails for now!

Commissioner Craven Works the Phone

He's got a lot of shady characters on speed dial.

The Plot Thickens

I went back a ways for the image of the commissioner with brown hair, but interestingly, in the last couple Mark Trail strips his hair is once again brown. What a wacky world.

Time for some talking animals

Yes, we're long overdue for some talking animals, and there are more coming before too long.

Mocking some of the regular absurdities

We're in the middle of a batch of strips that mainly mock some of the common offenses to logic that occur in Mark Trail. Hope you enjoy!

I think she needs counselling.

Talk about Freedom of Information!

Between getting more donuts and using the john, these cops don't have time to do their own investigation. Or are they paid off?
